Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Avoid Christmas Card Controversy, Depart for Holiday Getaway

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry released their 2022 holiday card earlier this week. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Harry and Meghan production without some fierce pushback from the haters. Why? Oh, because the card didn’t feature a photograph of their children. Yes, that’s really it. The Sussexes’ refusal to share a photo of @Archie or Lili inspired a major uproar from petty sorts, many of whom clearly hasten the end of days. It seems that the Sussexes just can’t catch a break, no matter how many rights to privacy they defend in court.

Unveiled as it was from Harry and Meghan’s offices at Archewell, the card bore a distinctly corporate air. Given Harry and Meghan’s passionate campaign for their children’s privacy, featuring their kids on the family’s holiday card would have run counter to their values. And as the Sussexes’ prepared for the holidays, the couple took a secret trip to Costa Rica last week, without their children. Though the duo were discreet about the whole thing, the news leaked days later when Page Six reported that Harry and Meghan spent a week away in Guanacaste and Zapotal. As we said earlier, folks will find a reason to complain about literally any action taken by Harry and Meghan. So if they were concerned about what the haters think about them, they might have made a big deal about taking their kids on a little pre-Christmas vacation. Nonetheless, the trip went undiscovered until after they returned.

Now what course will the Sussexes take this festive holiday season? Since Archie’s parents prefer to shower him with experiences instead of toys, Meghan recently revealed that Archie is obsessed with photography, hinting at an expensive gift request. Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us, stated Meghan. I bought Archie a camera, and he said, ‘But it’s not a Leica like Misan,’ Meghan said, laughing. ‘You are not getting a Leica! Not even for Christmas,’ she jokingly added. At least they rebuffed that request — not even royalty gets everything!
