Six Rangers Chosen for All-MLB First and Second Teams

The All-MLB honors highlight the elite players across all positions in Major League Baseball (MLB). This prestigious recognition is determined through a combination of fan voting and a panel of media members, broadcasters, former players, and other officials in the sport.

Corey Seager and Marcus Semien, who ranked second and third, respectively, in the AL MVP voting, were both named to the All-MLB team. They were key contributors to the Texas Rangers’ success, leading the team to its first postseason appearance since 2016. Additionally, both players received Silver Slugger Awards for their outstanding offensive performances and were finalists for Gold Glove Awards.

Despite playing just 119 games due to two stints on the injured list, Seager had a stellar offensive season. He finished second in the AL in batting average, slugging percentage, and OPS, while also hitting 33 home runs and driving in 96 RBIs.

Semien’s durability and consistency were on full display as he led the AL in plate appearances, at-bats, runs, and hits by playing in all 162 regular-season games.

Catcher Jonah Heim’s outstanding defensive skills earned him a spot as an All-Star starter and a Gold Glove Award winner. He posted impressive numbers in throwing out basestealers and framing pitches, showcasing his value behind the plate while also improving his offensive contributions.

Outfielder Adolis García was recognized for his offensive and defensive prowess, hitting 39 home runs and earning his first career Gold Glove Award for his exceptional fielding and throwing abilities.

Nathan Eovaldi emerged as the Rangers’ ace pitcher after Jacob deGrom’s season-ending injury. Eovaldi performed admirably, posting a 3.63 ERA in 144 innings while dealing with his own injury setback.

Jordan Montgomery, acquired in a Trade Deadline deal, made a significant impact as a starting pitcher for the Rangers. He provided stability to the rotation, posting a 2.79 ERA in 67 2/3 innings and contributing to the team’s success down the stretch.

Overall, the Texas Rangers were well-represented in the All-MLB honors, showcasing the exceptional talent and contributions of their players across various positions on the field. Their achievements on both offense and defense played a pivotal role in the team’s successful 2023 season.
