Tragedy Strikes Stuntman Mr. Taraja Ramsess, known for his work in Marvel superhero movies “Black Panther” and “Avengers,” lost his life in a fatal car accident, which also claimed the lives of his three children. The incident occurred on Halloween night on Oct. 31. Reports suggest that his car collided with a tractor-trailer that had broken down in the left lane of Interstate 20 eastbound at Wesley Chapel Road in Georgia.
The accident left Mr. Ramsess’s 13-year-old daughter Sundari Ramsess, 10-year-old son Kisasi Ramsess, and eight-week-old newborn daughter Fujibo Ramsess dead. His mother, Akili Ramsess, first expressed hope that Kisasi would survive but later confirmed his passing. Only two of Mr. Ramsess’s children survived the crash, including three-year-old daughter Shazia Ramsess, who is currently recovering from minor injuries in the hospital.
Heartbroken by the tragedy, Ms. Ramsess described her son as a “beautiful, loving, talented” person who enjoyed martial arts, motorcycles, and film-making. She expressed disbelief and grief over the loss of her son and grandchildren, and she thanked everyone who reached out with kind words and prayers.
Mr. Ramsess was known for his work in “Black Panther,” “Avengers: Endgame,” “Avengers: Infinity War,” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” He also contributed to over 40 other film projects, showcasing his incredible talent and dedication to his craft.
Director Ava DuVernay also paid tribute to Mr. Ramsess, highlighting his role as a “leader” and a “light” in her production company ARRAY. She fondly remembered his dedication to his family and his passion for filmmaking and TV. Ms. DuVernay praised his willingness to lend a helping hand when needed, emphasizing his kindness and generosity.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support Mr. Ramsess’s mother, raising over $91,000 from the contributions of more than 290 supporters. The campaign aims to provide financial assistance to Ms. Ramsess as she copes with this devastating loss and begins the long journey of healing.
