The denial by rapper P. Diddy of ever being abusive to his former girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, has been thrown into doubt thanks to recently released surveillance footage by CNN. In November 2023, Ventura claimed in a lawsuit that Diddy had been physically violent towards her, including an episode in Los Angeles where he beat her after an argument. Six months on, surveillance footage has emerged that appears to back up her allegations of abuse. It shows Diddy shoving, kicking, grabbing and violently throwing items at his ex-girlfriend in the hotel hallway. Ventura can be seen leaving the room and Diddy running after her, grabbing her by the back of the neck and throwing her to the floor. Diddy is then seen to make repeated kicking motions, it is a deeply distressing piece of footage.
The 2016 surveillance video was allegedly never seen since the time it was taken. Ventura claimed in her complaint that Diddy ensured that the footage would remain private by paying $50,000 to the InterCon
