3 Hospitalized After Knife Attack on Party Boat in New York City Along Brooklyn Waterfront

An alarming incident transpired during a festive celebration in New York City as the crowded party boat underwent a knife attack resulting in three individuals hospitalized, according to the police. The assault was reported around 5 p.m. along the Brooklyn waterfront near 58th Street and the Brooklyn Army Terminal warehouse, revealed NYPD Detective Sophia Mason. The injured were revealed to be a 32-year-old man with a stab wound to the torso, a 40-year-old man with stab wounds to the chest and abdomen, and a 28-year-old man hit with a bottle in the head. As a precautionary action, the victims were immediately taken to NYU Langone Hospital, where they remained in a stable condition, as shared by Mason. An additional two individuals were treated for injuries at the scene; nevertheless, they declined any further medical attention, as mentioned by the fire department. No arrests have been made as per Saturday evening, and the investigative process was currently ongoing.

At the time of the heartbreaking occurrence, approximately 3,000 people were onboard the Cornucopia Majesty, a vessel that gracefully traveled the waters. The boat, hosting various daytime and nighttime parties boarding at the Brooklyn Army Terminal on Saturday, was expected to stage an event entitled BYFAROnABoat. Unfortunately, as a result of the criminal activity that developed by the pier, the night event was postponed, as communicated by the event through a statement posted on social media. Emphasizing the company’s reputation as a solid fixture of safe events in the city, BYFAR Entertainment considered this situation as a rare occurrence that has never been a norm for them.

The pier located at the army terminal, which also houses various industrial businesses, is a hub for NYC’s ferry service and private vessels. It comes as no surprise that party cruises are a staple sight during the city’s warmer months, carrying numerous crowds eager to relish the breathtaking views of the city’s most recognized landmarks, particularly the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline. The government has managed to put some limitations on where and when they can dock on the southern Brooklyn waterfront due to previous concerns from some area residents, leading to a few measures restricting their operations
