Exclusive: Mandy Moore Reveals Son Gus Isn’t Interested in Watching Her Movie ‘Tangled’

Mandy Moore’s son, Gus, doesn’t seem to care about his mother’s iconic Disney connections. In a recent interview with ET, Moore revealed that her 2-year-old son, Gus, wasn’t impressed by their recent trip to Disneyland, where they posed with Rapunzel and Flynn Rider. Moore voiced Rapunzel in the 2010 film, Tangled, but Gus seemed completely uninterested in the princess.

Despite his mother’s Disney ties, Gus is more into the movie Cars than Tangled. Moore confessed to ET, “He knows two Mickey Mouses, but Rapunzel was just blank. He had no idea. I’ve asked him to watch Tangled and he has no interest.”

In addition to being unimpressed by his mom’s work, Gus also isn’t interested in Moore’s musical abilities or her husband, Taylor Goldsmith’s, talent. Moore shared, “Gus is really into mom and dad not singing. Or he’ll say that to Taylor when Taylor’s playing guitar. He does not like it. He just wants to hear the original, which I understand.”

The one thing that the whole family can agree on is their love of cats. Moore shared that they have three felines of their own and the cats are a big part of their family.

Moore recently became a part of Purina Cat Chow’s 60-year anniversary celebration. She said, “Like many cat lovers, it’s a brand I’ve trusted to feed my rescues, Fig, Peanut and Olivia! To celebrate, Cat Chow published a book called 60 Stories 60 Years Celebrating the Extraordinary Impact of Cats.”

The book contains 60 stories highlighting real-life connections that pet owners have with their cats and how impactful cats have been on their lives. Moore shared her own story in the book’s foreword and thinks the book is “the perfect gift for the holidays for any cat lover in your life.”

Furthermore, Moore ensured that all the proceeds from the book will be benefiting Pet Partners, a non-profit that registers therapy animal teams. “Especially around the holidays, the idea of being able to give back to an organization like Pet Partners that’s doing such incredible work for people, really highlighting the important impacts that cats can have, especially in the therapeutic aspects of things is just everything,” Moore added.

In addition to her work with Purina, Moore believes that cats helped prepare her for parenthood and is excited to share the importance of being a responsible pet owner.

All in all, Mandy Moore’s son may not be impressed by his mother’s Disney connections or talent in the music industry, but they all share a love for their feline family members. And, through her work with Purina, Moore is aiming to bring more attention to the positive impact that cats have on people’s lives.
