Michigan Imam Calls for Muslims to Wage Jihad in US, Video Shows

Michigan Islamist preacher, Ahmad Musa Jibril, has made a disturbing call for American Muslims to engage in Jihad against the “infidel West” and has encouraged Muslims in the US to “normalize” the concept of Jihad. The radical imam, through an associated online account, shared various clips, including one where he refers to Joe Biden as a “terrorist” due to his administration’s policies towards Israel.

In one of the shared clips, Jibril accuses Biden of being responsible for the genocide in Palestine, stating that the President’s support for the Jewish occupiers is a major contributor to the suffering of the Palestinian people. He emphasizes the concept of Jihad in Islam, dismissing what he refers to as “American-Zionist Islam” and urging Muslims to embrace their religious duty of Jihad.

Furthermore, Jibril has suggested that in light of the October 7 Hamas attack on Israeli civilians, young Muslims should recognize the “infidel West,” particularly the US, as enemies of Muslims. He also encouraged Muslim mothers to instill the love of Jihad and the ambition to become a “mujahid” and a martyr in their infants.

According to The New York Post, Jibril has a history of inciting radicalism within his community. He has previously called for young individuals to travel to Syria to join the ranks of ISIS and even sent an unsettling fan letter to CNN following a 1995 terror bombing in Riyadh. Additionally, a perpetrator in the 2017 London Bridge terror attack was reportedly a follower of Jibril.

Alberto Fernandez, the vice president of the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), expressed concern over the content being promoted by individuals like Jibril on social media platforms. He stated that the extreme and radicalizing nature of such content is alarming, especially considering that it is readily available for all to see.

The implications of Jibril’s calls for Jihad and his documented history of influence on individuals involved in terrorist activities raise serious concerns. The open promotion of radical ideologies and encouragement of violence within a Western community underscores the growing danger of extremism and the urgent need for vigilance in addressing such threats. The dissemination of such incendiary content on social media platforms also raises questions about the responsibility of these platforms in preventing the spread of dangerous ideologies.
